Big Bone Lick State Park

We stumbled upon this campground when we were heading to Pigeon Forge from the Cincinnati area. The sign on the interstate stated that it was 6 miles off of I-75, but it seemed a bit longer. The drive was very beautiful, though. It is a very nice and clean campground. We arrived before the busy season (April), so there were only a couple of other campers. I imagine that the summer is packed with families because the amenities include a pool, miniature golf, tennis courts, a basketball court, a museum, a fishing lake and a playground. The sites are all asphalt, but most of them are not flat. We used all of the leveling blocks that we had and our motorhome was still not level. The bathhouse was clean. The showers have a curtain for the changing room and another curtain going into the shower. There is not a shelf to put your shampoo on unless you keep them in the changing room behind the shower curtain. The laundry room was clean and in good working order. All of the sites have electric and water. There are no sewer hook-ups, but there is one dump station with two lanes. A bison herd is maintained on-site. There is also a campground grocery store. Overall a very nice campground that we would stay at again.
