Batteries 1953 GMC coach

My son inherited this coach, we know nothing about it, trying to find out which batteries are for the motor and which are for the house?

I have sent this question on to a 4104 owner that I know.

I think this may depend on the individual coach since the 4104 buses are all unique bus conversions.

Are they both 12v battery banks?

Is one bank of batteries a bank of deep cycle batteries? (if so, those would be the house batteries. You would not use deep cycle batteries to start an engine.)

Thank you Fred, we spent most of the day looking thru the manual and trying to orient ourselves with different aspects. We think we need a new battery and will be trying that tomorrow. It has a huge battery and it says NAPA 7271 so we will see about that tomorrow.

I received an answer from my friend Jon with a 4104:

"The start batteries for the 4104 will be on the left side of the coach, in the battery compartment. Start batteries 2-4D batteries. I have AGM gell batteries on our coach.

Deep cycles should be your house batteries."
